Victorian Marble Fireplace Surround

Substantial Victorian fireplace surround with arched aperture. Carved from muted Carrara marble with intricate and abundant grape vine, fruit and floral motifs. Imported from Europe to America where it found it’s 130 year home in a Palo Alto residence built in 1890. The finish has mellowed over time to a soft satin luster.

Overall: 79″w x 48″h x 16″ projection from wall at the deepest point where the mantelpiece curves outward.

Opening: 39″w x 34″h.

Base/hearth: 17 1/2″w x 79 1/2″h.

Meticulously removed and in undamaged condition.
